WHO THIKS HE CAN
If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win, but you think you can’t. You can’t.
If you think you will lose, you’ve lost.
For out of the world we find,
Successes begin with a fellow’s will.
It all is the state of mind.
If you think you are out dressed, you are.
You have got to think high, to rise
You have got to be sure of yourself for
You can ever win a prize
Life’s battles don’t always go.
To the strong or faster man
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the men WHO THIKS HE CAN!
Cost of Worry and Tension
After many years of experience, I have come to the conclusion that millions of people are defrauding themselves of health, energy and happiness and development of their own powers that they-might achieve simply by learning how to get the most out of their bodies. It is too often worry and tension and unhappiness that makes us suffer, not illness that wreaks this havoc upon us.
The Gita –Book For The Journey Of Life
The Gita is not a book for study and examination as text book or novel It is a book that tells men how to regulate their activities and their minds. It is like a railway guide. It is a guide-book for the journey of life. We should travel with its help, not commit it to memory. Merely committing it to memory will not enable us to reach the journey’s end.
The Best We Can
To do at each moment the best we can an leave the result to the Divin’s decision, is the surest way to peace, happiness, strength, progress and final perfection.
Shortcomings
What most interferes with our seeing the good qualities in others are our own shortcomings.
Thy Ceaseless Music
Rhythm of Life, I feel thy beating, pulse.
In the still depth of my soul,
Where sensuous sounds melt into oblivion.
Thy ceaseless music drowns all discord,
Blending chaos of life in eternal harmony.

I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the ten minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha

Stories for Children
Value of Hard –Earned Money
Prabhakar , at a very early age, lost his parents during an epidemic. None of his relatives helped him during the most difficult times. He worked hard as a petty clerk and earned small salary. After long years of sincere work, he built up his own business and became rich. Thus he learnt the value of money.
Prahabakar had a son, Shankar. He was loved by Prabhakar and his wife Rathi very much. Prabhakar wanted Shankar to realize the value of money.
He was put in a school but he did not progress much since he was not serious about education. Before Shankar was taken into his own business. Prabhakar wanted him to work somewhere and earn money out of his own toil.
One day Prabhakar called Shankar and advised him to by for a job or work somewhere and earn money. It was the responsibility of Shakar to visit various offices and business centers seeking a job. Unfortunately , he was unable to get a job in spite of his best efforts. It was a discouragement Shankar. He felt ashamed to see his father who often enquired about his getting a job or work to earn money.
Rathi was sad to see the plight of Shankar. Without Prabhakar’s knowledge, Rathi called Shankar, spoke to him lovingly and told him, “My dear son, don’t worry. Take this Fifty Rupees and tell your father that you have earned this money by doing some work in the market. Once your father is convinced that you have earned the money he would not bother you later”. Shankar thought it was a good idea. He took the money with great relief and approached his father. Stretching the currency note told him, “Father , I have done some work in the market place today and earned this fifty rupees.
Shaker felt that his father Prbhakar would be happy. Contrary to his expectation; Prabhakar threw the currency note into the fire. Though fifty rupees was lost in a moment, Shankar was not upset and Prabhakar could understand what was in the mind of Shankar.
Unable to study the mind of his father, Shankar approached his mother. To see that Shankar was not disappointed, Rathi gave him another Fifty Rupee note and advised him to approach his father once again. Shankar approached his father for the second time and told, “Father, I have earned another Fifty Rupees by doing part time job”. Prabhakar looked into his eyes and once again threw the currency note into the fire. Shankar was puzzled . He began thinking about the attitude of his father.
Now Shankar did not want to approach his mothers once again. He decided to honestly do some work and earn money. He went and tried seriously and at last he was lucky enough to get a part time work in a small shop. For his hard work from Morning to Evening he was paid Rs 50/- Now Shankar was very happy that out of his own toil, he could earn some money. With satisfaction in his mind , he approached his father and showed him the Fifty Rupee Note which he earned out of hard work. As usual Prabhakar threw the currency note into the fire for the third time. Now Shankar was totally upset and could not tolerate his hard earned money being burnt away in the fire. In great anger he cried out, “Father, how cruel are you? For ten hours I worked hard and earned this money. Without any thought, you have thrown it into the fire. I cannot tolerate it into the fire. I cannot tolerate this”. Tears rolled down the cheeks of Shakar and he simply cried with out relief.
Prabhakar smiled, embraced Shankar and told him lovingly, “My dear son, I knew what all happened. Because your mother gave money, you are not upset when it was thrown into fire. But today you are in tears because it is your hard earned money . My son, this is the difference between the money got easily and money earned out of hard work. Since you have understood the value of money, I will take you into my business, right from tomorrow”. Thus saying Prabhakar widped away the tears of Shankar and pattered him on his back. Rathi who was observing experienced the real happiness of her life.
Moral: You realize the value of money only when it is earned honestly out of hard work.
Mime and Pantomime
‘Mime’ means to act. It is acting without words by physical gestures words by physical gestures alone. Ancient Greek and Roman Drama practices it in 5th century B.C. It was popular in Italy also. Initially it had romantic themes.
‘Pantomime ‘ (which also means to act) similar to Mime was developed from 100 B.C with slight difference. Roman Pantomime used masks and great themes but retained the gestures and action of Mime. French and English dramatists used Pantomime in comic scenes in 19th century. Modern western Mime, also known as Dumb Charade, is purely silent art in which meaning s are conveyed through gesture, movement and expression.
Tiny Ripples
“Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. Such ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance”.
By Mere Repetition
The kali age( Modern Times) is full of many evils but it has one great virtue that, during this age, one can free oneself from all bonds and realize God by the mere repetition of the name of Sri Krishna.
A Man is As Great As
A man is as great as the dreams he dreams
As great as the love he bears.
As great as the values he redeems.
And the happiness he shares.
A man is as great as the thoughts he thinks.
As the worth he had attained.
As the fountains at which his spirit drinks.
As the insight he has gained.
A man is as great as the truth he speaks.
As great as the help he gives.
As great as the destiny he seeks.
As great as the life he lives.

Thy will is my safety
Thou canst make my frail vessel to cross o’er these
Rough waters of life.
Thy will is my hope of safety.
I know no other art nor skill.
Save to trust in Thy will.
Thy will is my safety,
My source of all peace and joy.

Wise thought
All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours; but tom make them truly ours; we must think them over again honestly, till they take root in our personal experience.
See An Opportunity
There are two types of persons. There are those who think in terms of problems. They see problems everywhere. There are others who, in every problem, see an opportunity.
Already lost
He who does not hope to win has already lost.
Peace in home
He is the happiest , king or peasant , who finds peace in his home.
Guidelines For Better Listening
Be interested and show it. Tune in to the other person. Avoid jumping to conclusions. Look for the main ideas. Watch for feelings. Monitor your own feelings and point of view. Notice nonverbal language. Give the other person the benefit of doubt. Be alert at listening . It takes mental effort and attention . Get feed back. Ask questions.

Painting That Appears As Real!
Almost every visitor to Chatsworth House in England reach for a violin in the Music Room. Yet actually it is only painted on the door. It is not a real violin.
Rock of Refuge.
When I stand alone with Thee on this rock of refuge.
I stand firm and unshakable.
Without fear or doubt of self.
I gaze upon the valley of life.
My vision is clear;
Far and near, present and past
And all future in the bosom of time
Melt into one blending harmony.
They Presence is the magic of this clarified unity.
The marvel of this blending harmony.

Laugh And Live Long
Taking a day off from work is something all of us look forward to. Here are some very enjoyable excuses….!
An employee applied for leave as follows;
Since I have to go to my village to sell my land along with my wife, please sanction me one week leave.
Leave letter from an employee who was performing his daughter’s weeding.
“as I am marrying my daughter, please grant a week’s leave.”
Another employees leave letter;
As my mother in law has expired and I am only one responsible for it, please grant me 10 days leave.
One employee applied for half day leave as follows;

An incident of a leave letter.
“ I am suffering from fever, please declare one day holiday”.
A leave letter to the headmaster:
“ As I am studying in this school I am suffering from headache. I request you to leave me today”
Another note :

Actual letter written for application of leave;

Letter writing

Two sorts of writers possess genius ; those who think and those who cause others to think.
Love looks through a telescope; envy looks through a microscope.
There is nothing that is impossible if one brings to bear one one’s work a vigilant and resourceful mind.

Perfume of Purity
When our thoughts rise with the perfume of purity.
We can offer them to Him
Who accepteth our oblation.
Do Thou fill my heart in full measures
With Thine inexhaustible love
That I may scatter it abroad;
For Thy love is all-saving and life giving.
